Acusaciones de genocidio
El 29 de diciembre Sudáfrica presentó una solicitud para iniciar un procedimiento contra Israel ante laCorte Internacional de Justicia de La Haya en relación con sus actos "de carácter genocida" cometidos en la Franja de Gaza y buscar la suspensión urgente de la campaña militar israelí.
El país hebreo rechazó las acusaciones durante las audiencias y manifestó que es la ONU la que debería ser juzgada. "Es la ONU la que debería ser juzgada en La Haya por hacer la vista gorda y, por tanto, actuar como cómplice en la excavación de túneles terroristas en Gaza, en el uso de la ayuda internacional para la producción de misiles y cohetes, y en la educación del odio y el asesinato", aseveró el representante permanente israelí Gilad Erdan ante el organismo internacional.
