Las fuertes lluvias durante la tormenta del 2 de febrero de 2020 causaron graves inundaciones repentinas en Alice Town, en el municipio del distrito de Amathole, en el Cabo Oriental (Sudáfrica).
Las casas sufrieron daños y el tráfico se paralizó debido a que las aguas de la inundación de más de un metro de profundidad inundaron la ciudad.
En una declaración del 2 de febrero, el municipio dijo: "El distrito municipal de Amathole se ha visto afectado por el desastre en su ciudad de Alice debido a las fuertes lluvias de hoy".
El municipio ha enviado a su equipo de desastres para evaluar el alcance de los daños.
